The Florida paperwork in short
- Complete the Transfer of Title by Seller section on the front of the title, with the odometer reading.
- Remove your license plate; in Florida it stays with you.
- File a Notice of Sale, form HSMV 82050, which FLHSMV says Florida law requires of sellers.
- Lost title: duplicate title form HSMV 82101. Old car worth very little and no title: see the derelict vehicle rules.
