FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does Royal Black compare to Conti in 245/45R18?
Royal Black matches or beats Conti on UTQG treadwear rating (420 vs 340) in this exact size, at a $160.51 lower price.
Is Royal Black a good alternative to Conti?
Royal Black offers a documented UTQG treadwear rating of 420 in this size, compared to Conti at 340. Treadwear rating is a federally mandated, manufacturer-published measure of expected tire life, making this a fair, apples-to-apples comparison for this exact size.
Will ride comfort or noise be different between these two tires?
Treadwear rating measures expected tread life, not ride comfort or noise level. Premium brands like Conti often invest more in noise-dampening technology and ride refinement, which may be a real difference even at matching treadwear ratings. If quiet ride is your top priority, ask our team at 561-971-9869 which option best fits that specific need.
